The band classes at JM Alexander are a form of Concert Band. We use traditional wind and percussion instruments such as trumpets, tubas, flutes, clarinets, and percussion (like bells and xylophones). We do not use electric guitars, pianos, or drum sets. The classes Mr. Robison teaches are:
8th Grade Band
8th Grade Orchestra
2 7th Grades Bands
6th Grade Brass Methods
6th Grade Woodwinds Methods
Percussion Ensemble Class
Scholars will play in class everyday using 2 books, Essential Elements 2000 Book 1 and Foundations for a Superior Performance. Scholars should be practicing at home (at least 15 minutes everyday Monday through Friday) and logging their time into EEi (www.EssentialElementsInteractive.com). The JMA Music Department holds 2 concerts each year, Winter and Spring. This is a time when scholars come together to show their friends and family what they've been working on all year.
